We had two city commission meetings in the same evening last night, Leesburg and Wildwood Florida. Both cities were voting on residential projects on land that we own. These two projects represent over 470 new housing units, 250 fee simple townhome units in Leesburg (The Parc at 48) and 224 cottage style units in Wildwood (Canvas at Wildwood). Thankfully, the meetings were an hour and a half apart. Arrived at 2nd meeting with 2 minutes to spare. Both projects were approved! Excited to continue working with our partners for each respective project, Brite Homes on the Leesburg site and Watermark Companies on the Wildwood site. Many thanks go out to the staff at both cities for their diligent and hard work. They have a tough job! What an amazing day yesterday was, and not really an untypical day. Why I love this career.

Congratulations! Well deserved. We at Blount Development Group have certainly benefited over the last few years from our relationship with JLL. You guys rock!

Notice how the reporter states, somewhat shockingly, “a brand new build to rent subdivision is going right next-door to a subdivision of family homes.” So I guess the reporter and The City don’t think families are going to rent those homes. I don’t know who they think is gonna live in there. 🤷🏻♂️ As these built to rent subdivisions, get much more popular, there’s going to be fear of the unknown and attempts at regulation. We, who are in this industry, will need to help educate the local city planners and others, about this space.
