Team Overkill Lives Up to Their Name "It's not the size of the dog in the fight; it's the size of the fight in the dog." That saying couldn’t be more fitting for the 26th Annual Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Showdown. Facing off against seasoned veterans with the resources for bigger boats, more power, and cutting-edge electronics might seem intimidating. While those things can be bought, the tenacious crew of series rookies on Overkill, aboard their 2000 29’ Sea Vee Boats proved that heart and determination are priceless. With top-five finishes in Legs 1 & 2, they stayed in the mix all season long — their collective resilience and willpower of a team driven to win finally came to light at the Saltwater Showdown. The team reeled in four kingfish and a tuna for an aggregate weight of 137.5 lbs beating the MacDaddy crew by a narrow margin of six ounces. The victory earned them a laundry list of awards for a total payout of $31,334. Read the full tournament recap from the Saltwater Showdown in the link below https://lnkd.in/em7kZyF2

Expecting Nothing Less From Slob City Charters It’s rare for Capt. Carl Torresson and the crew of Slob City to finish outside the top 10 in any leg of the PBSC tournament trail. However, that uncommon occurrence took place last month in the Saltwater Shootout. Expecting anything less than a stellar performance from them in the upcoming Saltwater Slam would be an understatement and their showing in the Saltwater Slam proved it. Team Slob City hit the scales at Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach with four kingfish and four tuna for an aggregate weight of 183.6lbs earning the team 3rd in the Heaviest Tuna Division, and 1st Bluewater Bonanza, Ante Up, Charity, and Fish & Chips Calcuttas for a total Payout of $26,248. Congratulations, Slob City, on earning the well-deserved title of 2024 Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Slam Champions. Seapremacy Breaks a Ten-Year Tournament Record to Win The 26th Annual Mercury/SeaVee Pompano Beach Saltwater Shootout! Not even 48 hours after the Showdown Crown rings were presented to the 2023 Series Champions, Seapremacy, a bold text from Johan Bennett, an angler on the team, came through to tournament director Jamie Bunn hours before lines out. The message read, "Send the champagne up to Palm Beach." At that moment, we knew a heavy fish bag was bound to hit the scales at Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach. After lines out, committee members watched as the tournament fleet pulled up to the docks at The Cove Waterfront Restaurant & Tiki Bar in Deerfield. To our surprise, team Seapremacy, led by Capt. Alex Burgess was one of the boats leading the charge. It was clear that we were in for a spectacle. Spectators crowded the stage as the team hit the scales with four kingfish, four tuna, and a wahoo for an aggregate weight of 288.4 lbs, breaking a ten-year tournament record by 35.7 lbs. The team’s haul earned them a laundry list of awards for a total payout of $46,665. Read the full tournament recap in 🔗 below ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/esx_tBjY

The 2024 sailfish season in South Florida has proven that no one does it better than John Dudas and the crew on Sandman. Their journey unfolded following a less-than-stellar performance at Operation Sailfish in January, setting the stage for a remarkable resurgence by the 2017 Series Champions. The turning point for the crew came during the Sailfish Challenge in February when the Sandman crew rallied to release four sailfish in the final 20 minutes of the tournament, catapulting them from 3rd to 1st place. The message was sent: “Don’t count out John Dudas.” Their momentum continued with another triumphant 1st place finish a week later. Finally, as the South Florida Sailfish season culminated with Final Sail, the tone had been set as the team finished the season with their third victory in three straight tournaments to solidify a well earned reputation as the best in the game! Congratulations to Sandman, the title of 2024 Final Sail Champions is now yours to hold forever! Read the full recap from Final Sail 🔗⬇️ https://lnkd.in/eSQvkEga
