NOW AVAILABLE The Burner Linkage Trainer brings you the ability to learn linkage, mod motors, and gas butterfly valves without the pressure of a running burner. The Burner Linkage Trainer removes the variables of heat, loud environment, dirt, poor lighting, and being afraid of making mistakes. Empower service techs to learn in house without having to send them to expensive offsite training that they may only retain 10% of what they learned. They can spend as much time with this over weeks at a time until they feel confident with linkage adjustment, troubleshooting HW mod motors, and gas butterfly valves. This physical trainer comes with a curriculum with lessons so you do not have to have a subject matter expert with someone to teach everything. If you are looking for a scalable solution to train service technicians for years to come, this is a great option.....or you can just keep posting that job opening for a senior service tech. Your choice. DM us if you are interested or have questions. #boilers #burners #training

Modutrol IV Motors for Boiler Service Technicians training course now includes Spanish subtitles (in addition to English). This will be standard on all new training courses on the Boilearn Training Platform. You will only have to select English or Spanish subtitles once in the training course and each video after will display the same. This prevents you from having to manually select Spanish subtitles with every new video lesson. Any other languages we should translate for the training courses? #boilers #training #steam #modutrolIV #honeywell #hvac

NOW AVAILABLE Over 20 video modules in this eLearning course will guide you through what you need to know about mod motors. The course is designed to be engaging and has some interactive elements during the videos. Throughout the course are quizzes to test your understanding and keep you on your toes. At the end is a final exam so you can gauge how well you have retained the material. The course on average takes 2 hours to complete if you were to go through it in one sitting, but you are encouraged to only complete portions of the course at a time to prevent information overload. If you are a manager and want to sign up multiple people, a custom training portal can be made for your company so you have reports on people's course progress or time spent learning. Details matter. Creating training for service technicians that works is hard. It's easy to throw some information together and then wonder why you don't get the results. The effort input into the process will directly affect the results. This photo is a close up of a larger training assembly that teaches service technicians about burner linkage, butterfly valves, and mod motors. This project started as an idea back in October 2023 and is now reaching the final stages. Excited to get these out to companies so they can teach their people in-house in a controlled environment. Final photos of the full trainer coming soon. #boilers #steam #training #burners #HVAC #service

You could already have people who are a small adjustment away from becoming great service technicians. Don't focus on the mountain of knowledge you think someone needs to know to be a great service technician. Start with the basics and make adjustments. Stay consistent. Training is something you do, not something you did. #boilers #steam #training #burners

You quickly find out what you don't know when in the field. Training classes and instruction are great. You learning new information is always good, but it can lead to a false sense of what you actually learned. Oftentimes, you will leave training classes thinking you learned more than you actually did. There is no reason you have to memorize all the information in a training class. You just have to have a general idea of information and concepts, and know where to lookup the details. That is why part of the Foundations of Controls and Safety Devices (CSD-1) Training course includes PDFs for your future reference. One of the downloadables is a 76 step field guide to completing a CSD-1 report for a boiler. It is a simple, no frills document that you can reference in the field when stuck on a particular information field on the CSD-1 form. This prevents you from having to contact someone else for a quick question for information that is readily available. Training is not memorization. The smartest people often just know where to find the correct information. That is why we made this easy-to-reference guide. Interested in learning more about completing a CSD-1 form in the field? Build the Foundation. Training starts with the fundamentals. A solid base of knowledge can be built upon. Focus on the technical stuff too much and the base will give out. All too often, companies are trapped into thinking that hands-on training or on-the-job training is the way people need to learn because many boiler service technicians are hands-on learners. That is true. Boiler service technicians need hands-on training. But not before they have understood the foundational material. But hands-on learning can help people understand concepts! Yes, but all too often, instructional teaching is given up way before the limit is reached. Teaching about boiler gas trains? Show lots of pictures and diagrams in the classroom. Lead students through drawing out a typical gas train on a whiteboard with simple part ID and function. Think they are ready? Have the students come up and draw out a typical gas train on the whiteboard. Too intimidating? They can draw one on a piece of paper. Still struggling with that? Take a step back and have them label a clear picture of gas train components. If they can do that, then when they see a boiler see how well that knowledge transfers into the field. Make adjustments. But don't just skip classroom or eLearning because you think they have to see a dusty and rusty gas train in a boiler room. The best part is the foundation of a boiler service technician can get wider everyday to support more hands on and technical knowledge. But don't skip the simple, because it seems simple.
