I had a great time speaking on behalf of Bonsai Robotics at #AUSMAC24 in Gold Coast, Australia 2 weeks ago. While I was only able to be there for 1 day, I made a lot of great connections and learned a lot about what Australian macadamia nut growers are looking for. At Bonsai, we believe that our unique autonomy solution will deliver affordable and durable autonomy solutions to many crop types. In particular, the Bonsai-enabled AR-500 with autonomous capabilities in blast spraying, mowing, and more is starting to find traction in macadamias, citrus, and more--and personally, I can't wait for the opportunity to spend more time in Queensland!

Bonsai’s tech was featured on GoodDay Sacramento this morning as part of our participation in FIRA - World Ag Robotics Forum! During our discussion, Bonsai's co-founder & CEO Tyler Niday spoke to our mission: “In California specifically there is a challenging labor market and bringing the precision ag revolution to orchards and specialty crops has always been my goal.” Bonsai's Head of Product, Brian Baumgartner, also gave insight into how our product uses computer vision to navigate and execute tasks: "In short, it uses cameras in the same way that a human uses their eyes to analyze color, context, classification of objects...looks around the scene to understand where the trees, rows, and crops are and then completes the job from there."
