Wonder what pure, granulated, prebiotic TAGATOSE looks like under a microscope? Magnificent, double pyramidal crystals. Some say better looking than sugar crystals. Some say better tasting and better for you, too. See more at https://a.co/d/1K4FD6n

Nourishing rare sugars for the global mass market.
About us
Bonumose is an early-stage food ingredient manufacturer specializing in the affordable production of delicious, good-for-you sugars such as tagatose and allulose. Built on innovative, enzymatic technology discovered by Dr. Daniel Wichelecki, Bonumose developed a novel platform to produce naturally-occurring ingredients in commercial-scale quantities that would not otherwise be cost-effective or sustainable. Our mission is to offer healthy ingredients that can be used to meet consumers’ demands for delicious products that do not burden the waistband or the wallet. Good-for-you sugars are naturally-occurring – just like glucose, fructose and sucrose, but are called “rare sugars” because they are much less abundant in nature. Despite this scarcity, rare sugars are packed with health benefits, promoting healthy teeth, glycemic control and improved gut health. They are just as versatile as more commonly-consumed sugars such as sucrose, sharing a similar taste and technical profile that facilitates their easy incorporation into a variety of food and beverage products.

New paper from Brazilian research reviewing the existing data about #Tagatose health properties. The full paper is worth the time, but here are a couple of salient excerpts: "In short, D-tagatose is a rare sugar that combines nutritional and functional properties, presenting dietary applicability as a low-calorie sweetener. D-tagatose also has considerable antibacterial potential against species involved in periodontal disease and dental caries. Thus, the dietary use of D-tagatose can benefit health, considering that excessive consumption of caloric sugars can contribute to the development of chronic diseases." "D-tagatose is a rare sugar with a sweet taste and low caloric value. In addition to the low energy contribution, D-tagatose has other properties of interest for health, such as antioxidant capacity, prebiotic effects, low digestibility, reduced glycemic and insulinemic responses, and potential to improve the lipid profile." What's really interesting about Tagatose is that it has these health properties while also very closely matching cane sugar's sweetness, taste, flavor, and cookability.
