In 2023, Mitchell Kaplan and Books & Books opened a new chapter and launched the Books & Books Literary Foundation. The Foundation provides access to books, community events, and a space to promote the free exchange of ideas. After 40+ years of nurturing a community of South Florida readers at the bookstore, the introduction of the Books & Books Literary Foundation was a natural next step. Rooted in the love of books and the belief in the power of reading, The Foundation is expanding community programming and ensuring that it endures for generations to come.
