Hitinder Gurm is the co-founder of Amplitude Vascular Systems and Chief Medical Officer at University of Michigan Health. He is an interventionalist who has dealt with intravascular calcium on a daily basis and understands the challenges treating it. But Hitinder doesn’t just face challenges, he innovates and tries to overcome them. - In the lab, Rob and Hitinder pursued a bottom-up approach – they studied the disease state, its pathology, and the morphology of calcium to develop a better understanding of why there is a clinical need. Then they pursued a top-down approach – they designed a user centric device, with simple, familiar features, that would allow physicians to stay focused on patient health. - This was their path from university to venture funded start-up.
