Grateful for the opportunity to share my perspective on student success priorities with eSchool News as part of their 2025 edtech predictions series. At BrainPOP, we’re focused on empowering kids to shape their world, and building and measuring the skills they need to thrive in it. Their success is our north star: “I expect to see even more K–12 leaders embrace a holistic vision of student success–one that recognizes that academic knowledge and durable skills need to be developed in tandem in our schools and classrooms. Building knowledge across ELA, math, science, and social studies can be accelerated with the development of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving skills. I have seen the power of these skills in action throughout my career–from college readiness at Princeton Review to adult learning at General Assembly. But we have to start building them as early as possible to empower students to leverage them effectively throughout their lives. We will see a move toward measuring the ability to adapt, transfer knowledge, and apply existing skills in new circumstances. We’ll see more states and districts implement comprehensive frameworks like Portrait of a Graduate, which capture these multidimensional aspects of student learning and achievement. Edtech companies are going to rise to the occasion to help educators build and measure both academic and durable skills in authentic ways–meaning, ways that reflect the unique capabilities of individual students.” I also enjoyed reading insights shared by my industry peers. It is such a critical time , including our friend Dr. Margaret Honey of the Scratch Foundation, who emphasized the importance of putting student creativity and agency at the center of learning. I could not agree more! https://lnkd.in/dZP5eBfY

Wow, "most loved" means a LOT—both because this was my first-ever podcast recording and because I love talking about the power and impact of storytelling. #bucketlist I'm grateful that this conversation with Elana D. Leoni about my BrainPOP journey, digging into communications and brand building, resonated with All Things Marketing and Education listeners! Podcasts prioritize stories over sound bites, which is why I am an enthusiastic consumer, and I continue to view this medium as a key component of an authentic, human-centric thought leadership program.
