Last night BRAVE NI Won the Special Recognition Award at the Mighty Women NI Awards. ✨🏆 As a team we are beyond humbled and honoured to receive this award. But this isn’t just for us, this is for every victim/survivor who has ever been silenced, shamed, or made to feel they had to hide. This award represents something so much bigger: The breaking down of stigma and shame, the very things that keep sexual abuse hidden, and allow it to continue in silence. So when we celebrate survivor-Led activism/leadership and show the power of standing together, we chip away at the barriers that keep victims afraid to speak out. Recognition isn’t just an honour it’s a statement and this award is proof that the conversation is changing. That victims/survivors no longer have to whisper, hide, or feel alone. Every time we speak out, every time we are recognised. We push against the silence and systems that protect perpetrators and not victims. We will not stay quiet. We will not be ashamed. Together we are breaking the cycle, together we are being Brave so that children can be safe.
