🌨️ Youth experiencing homelessness face increased risks of hypothermia and frostbite during extreme winter weather. While the temperature has not reached the threshold for declaring a cold emergency, Boston Centers for Youth & Families’ (BCYF) community centers and Boston Public Libraries will be available as warming centers during their normal operating hours. We hope everyone is staying safe and warm! 💙 #breaktimeboston #nonprofit #empowerment #homelessness #advocacy #community #partnerships #weathersafety #equity

Some things in life just feel meant to be. One morning a year ago, on my way to work, I found myself stopping mid-step outside a building in Downtown Crossing. It was not flashy—no “For Sale” sign or big announcement—but something about it felt significant. The location, the structure, even the Eastern Bank branch on the first floor (a longtime partner of ours)—it all felt like it could be the perfect home for Breaktime and the Hub for Solving Young Adult Homelessness we dreamed of. Fast forward to today, and I could not be more excited that 63 Franklin Street is Breaktime’s new, permanent home. This is not just a building; it is a transformative space that will allow us to scale our impact in ways we have only dreamed about until now. I have been so encouraged by and grateful for the positive response to this news, so I decided to write a bit more about our vision for the space. Thank you to Julia Donegan and Chris Cotrone for your support on this piece.
