Brewers can significantly reduce purge times using BrewOps’ mobile, battery powered oxygen sensing device that is attached directly to the exhaust port of a brew tank. LED lights and mobile app notifications notify the brewer once certain thresholds are achieved, allowing the process to be easily and consistently repeated from tank to tank. Low power industrial sensing technologies are mechanically packaged and implemented in a brewery environment to save operators time and resources. The BrewOps Purge is a ruggedized, mobile, easy to use, sensing device with intelligent software and algorithms that quantify and reduce purge times, saving brewers valuable time and CO2. When integrated with valves and controllers, BrewOps sensors enable systems to automatically adjust water flow based on real-time data, ensuring precise water usage at every brewing step. BrewOps sensors also monitor water levels in tanks and other equipment, preventing overflows and reducing unnecessary water consumption. Pressure sensors maintain optimal levels in pipes and tanks, preventing leaks and overflows that contribute to significant water waste. Additionally, dissolved oxygen sensors monitor water quality, ensuring that reused water meets safety and quality standards, thereby reducing the need for excessive fresh water. Anything that helps brewers become more sustainable, more efficient, and less wasteful becomes a huge responsibility for the modern brewery. Carefully monitoring CO2 emissions during the purging process provides a shared benefit—saving an expensive resource, reducing the health impact on operators, and minimizing the brewery’s carbon footprint. When brewers purge (remove) oxygen from their brew tanks, they typically displace it with an oxygen-free purge gas like carbon dioxide, or nitrogen. The most common strategy is to fill the tank slowly from the bottom with the purge gas, which forces all the oxygen to move up and out of the tank. The purge gas is exhausted at floor level where pressure sensors and valves are located, or in this case, technology that measures oxygen concentration. Without measurement technologies to provide transparency into the process, brewers resort to over-purging — a wasteful, inconsistent, and ambiguous approach. BrewOps automation solves this problem and allows brewers to do what they do best — brew better beer. Automation conserves water by closely monitoring flow and usage, particularly when water is recycled and reintegrated into different stages of the brewing process. BrewOps sensors track the volume of water consumed throughout each stage, providing real-time data that help brewers pinpoint areas of excessive use and implement corrective actions to reduce waste. BrewOps provides real solutions for real breweries. All beverage manufacturers rely upon critical utilities like chillers, boilers, pasteurizers, and compressors to keep their operations up and running. Intelligent sensors from BrewOps provide crucial real-time quality data like dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids (concentration), pH, and brix (sugar). Measuring the conductivity of clean in place (CIP) chemicals and rinse water can also significantly reduce waste and increase sustainability. With the simplicity of even a single sensor, installed in minutes, manufacturers can automate critical equipment and begin receiving real-time data instantly, providing actionable insights to enhance productivity and quality.
