    32 years ago I took part in my middle school Science Olympiad team and learned that the triangle was one of the strongest shapes that I could use when building my balsa wood model bridge. And that simple experience was one of the catalytic events that set me on a path to becoming a licensed civil engineer. Today, I am thrilled to be able to create this same experience and opportunity for our Resrugence kids in our first ever STEM lab. These kids had the opportunity get a taste for a bridge building competition. Next week we will do a classic egg drop challenge and mouse trap car race. Then on to three weeks of the engineering design, build, test, refine process before a community showcase and competition. These kids are our future, and some of them may be our next engineers. #HighPotentilYouth #STEM #Engineering

    We're #hiring! We currently have 2 open part time positions for our Resurgence After-School Program Site Assistants. Resurgence Site Assistant Purpose: To provide administrative support and work alongside the Resurgence Director to successfully execute the Resurgence after-school program. Goals: Create an environment that ensures that students succeed academically, spiritually, socially, and have a positive impact on their community. Reports to: Resurgence Program Director Primary Responsibilities: 1. Programming and Administrative Support (50%): Maintain student and volunteer rosters, attendance tracking, registration forms, facilities, materials and supplies, food and transportation logistics, etc. Facilitate group activities with students during the program M-F between 2-5pm. 2. Relationship Building (30%): Build and maintain healthy constructive relationships with students and their families at school, at the center, and in the neighborhood. 3. Team Member (20%): Participate in team meetings and discussions–provide input, accept feedback, and help shape Bridge Street Ministries as an organization.
