When we talk about leadership and culture, our biggest pet peeve is hiring managers who can not look beyond the resume. "We can't hire that person! They are from New York! This is Iowa!" Here is an excellent case study. Hats off to Brian Love of Travillian, for introducing Sean Willett to Sally Hollis. But more importantly, kudos to Sally and her board for not discounting Sean just because he was a banker from NY. Based on this video, they interviewed him specifically for a cultural match and his perspectives aligned well with a small town feel, that also wants more technology in their banking services. If you are searching for talent, there is an important lesson to learn here. #leadership #talent #interview
