As we all welcome 2025, private markets founders are currently planning, building or growing their firms. We know what that's like. It takes a trustworthy and reliable network of supportive advisors, capital, and careful planning to maximise your chances of success. The British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI) has an exciting year of events, content and support planned for our GP members. We're adding LPs to our community and will soon launch detailed LP profiles to help you understand what they look for. Our content will guide you, and our WhatsApp group is always available to support you. Reach out to the Institute if you need support, and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction, and connect you personally with our partners who can help you as you grow. If you're not yet a member, contact the Institute via our website, and after verification, we can get you free and full access. 2025 will be your year. #emergingmanagers #alternatives #gpseeding #capitalraising #fundraising #independentsponsors #privateequity #privatedebt #infrastructure #vc #venturecapital #pe #fundlesssponsors #directdeals #familyoffices

About us
The British Emerging Manager Institute (“BEMI”, the "Institute") has been created for the historically underserved founders of private markets firms headquartered or investing in the United Kingdom. The Institute’s mission is to provide cost-effective market access and expertise to support the launch and growth of new private markets fund managers, and independent sponsors – to level the playing field. The members-only area of the Institute’s website offers a dedicated sandbox for founders to access firm launch and capital raising information, as well as direct access to service providers specialising in the creation and growth of new firms.

2024 has been a huge year for Corvus Group – alongside our continued delivery of fractional GC support to our clients we’ve rebranded, pivoted the business, taken on staff, appointed Karen Sands as our first NED, partnered with Quantium , joined the British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) and the British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI), sponsored and spoken at a range of events and have received our FCA authorisation – read all about it using the link below. Happy holidays to everyone and see you all in 2025!

Great to see the first British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI) clinic take place on the topic of fund administration and firm operations. Thanks to gold sponsor IQ-EQ for their role in hosting and supporting. The round table format allowed guests and panellists the opportunity to explore a number of areas that many emerging managers focus on, from regulatory setup, to compliance, to cost. #emergingmanagers #alternatives #fundraising #uk #privateequity #privatemarkets

London emerging managers - we still have a spot remaining for tomorrow's inaugural British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI), hosted by IQ-EQ, at 4pm. The session will cover a number of the burning questions we received from attendees ahead of time: - Deal by deal vs. fund setup - Regulatory requirements to get setup - Typical costs for setup and ongoing operation Shoot the Institute an email at member.services@bemi.org.uk to attend.

🧨 The list of documents LPs need to evaluate an independent sponsor deal. One of the most-asked questions I receive from ISs: “what documents do I need to raise capital for a single deal?” The following is a representative list, but very much a starting point – many LPs will place different emphases. 1. Pre-NDA teaser 2. NDA 3. Post-NDA deck 4. GP firm teaser presentation (if separate) 5. Opportunity IC memo 6. Third party diligence 7. Reference calls 8. Deal model, building up to LP returns 9. Legals (including SPA) A more detailed description of each document is provided in the British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI) (and forthcoming US Emerging Manager Institute (USEMI)) resources areas for members. What an incredible group of women! Emma Glyn and I were delighted to host our inaugural Women in Private Equity dinner in the private dining room of Barrafina, London. This dinner marks the start of a series of gatherings we’re organizing to bring together women in private equity—not simply to 'network', but to create a platform for building real connections with women in private equity at similar stages in their careers, for exchanging ideas, and, most importantly, for sharing and creating opportunities to go further and faster together. A huge thank you to our brilliant sponsor, the British Emerging Manager Institute (BEMI) (BEMI), for your partnership and for supporting this initiative from concept to reality. If you are—or know—a woman in private equity who would like to join future events or dinners, please do reach out. We’re committed to building a stronger, more connected global community of women in private equity. Thank you to everyone who made the first dinner as fantastic as it was: Alessandra Macmillan Aliya Yasmin Ahmed Catherine Allan Charlotte Vince Chloé Hogg Clare Storms Courtenay Durbridge Emma Smith (nee Harrison) Julia Lech Kate Garvin Katie Elkins Kelly Li Kirstie-Lynne Kerr Liz Perrott Luisa Alix Orsini Misha Millar-Wilkinson Zara Humayun Zoe Yeo (née Karkaletsos) Margret Barclay Ed Stubbings

Last night marked the launch of the Women in Private Equity Dinner Series. Hosted by Emma Glyn and Joanne Maure, they shared how much of a joy it was to witness the energy and engagement of everyone in the room. It was a privilege to sponsor such a wonderful event and we’re proud to support a community that champions collaboration and growth. Here’s to many more gatherings that celebrate and empower women in private equity. #WomenInPrivateEquity #Networking #Leadership #Inspiration #BEMI #PrivateEquity
