A collaboration between UW Medicine, The Fred Hutch and Seattle Children’s to advance precision medicine.

About us

The Brotman Baty Institute (BBI) is dedicated to the advancement of precision medicine and the benefits thereof to patients. Co-founded by the collaborative efforts of faculty from UW Medicine, Fred Hutch, and Seattle Children’s Hospital, The Brotman Baty Institute stands at the forefront of development and application of precision healthcare. To capitalize on the integrative nature of our affiliated campuses, we provide platforms for our members to access centralized tools and technologies for innovative advances in data science, genomics, and bioinformatics. We’re proud to lead the largest genomics center in the Pacific Northwest where we produced over 21,000 genomes in 2018. Our goal is to improve our understanding of the variables that influence disease incidence and prevalence as it relates to targeted therapies.
