We recently spoke with Massimo Andreatta, a researcher at the University of Lausanne, about his team's use of the CosMx Human 6K Discovery panel, which provides over 6,000-plex, to explore gene programs tied to clinical outcomes in basal cell carcinoma. With the highest single-cell plex available, CosMx SMI enables broader biological insights with unmatched precision. Had a wonderful day visiting Bruker Spatial Biology NanoString Technologies, Inc.! My host Joe Beechem made overcoming jet lag so easy by arranging meetings with a series of great scientific minds behind #GeoMx and #CosMx. I gave a 1 hr long talk covering what we have been trying to solve in spatial omics landscapes of neighborhoods and 3D genome architecture and another hour of QA. It was such a relief that one finally doesn’t need to explain why systems biology thinking matters, because it does matter! Taking a photo in front of the wall mural of “molecules that count” is precious. It sorts of symbolically summarizes an important part of my scientific career doing research using this technology. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to describe various subtypes within #ovarianclearcellcarcinoma，pushing the boundaries to find better treatment options for patients. Looking forward to more collaborations ahead!
