Buddy Migrants: Building Inclusive Communities Through Intercultural Education 🌍 Across Europe, many Third Country National (TCN) families face significant challenges—finding essential services, adapting to schools, and integrating into local communities. Parents often experience isolation, while children struggle in unfamiliar environments. Meanwhile, local communities may lack the tools or understanding to effectively support these families. The Buddy Migrants Project, supported by Erasmus+ and partners from six European countries, is here to make a difference. Embrace cultural exchange with the Buddy approach. In Slovenia, we believe that integration is a two-way street! The BuddyMigrants project introduces the buddy system, pairing local residents with TCNs to foster meaningful connections and cultural exchange. Why to choose your buddy, or why to become a buddy? Buddies provide invaluable knowledge about local customs, traditions, and everyday life, helping TCNs navigate their new environment with ease. Besides, this initiative promotes social bonds that enrich both locals and newcomers, creating a vibrant community where everyone feels welcome. Nevertheless, through joint activities—be it cooking classes, dance workshops, or cultural outings—buddies can learn from each other’s backgrounds and experiences.

As a part of local actions, DRPDNM implemented dancing workshop. It has been designed to promote cultural exchange and community bonding between TCNs and locals in Slovenia. Dance is a powerful tool for bringing people together, transcending language barriers and fostering connections. In this workshop, participants have had the opportunity to learn various dance styles while sharing their cultural backgrounds, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can express themselves.
