To be frank, the identity crisis for our tokenization startup came when we realized that tokenization could be the future, but that future won’t be reached without a clear path.     📁 Is my data the same as your data? This isn’t just a problem for the real estate industry, but all of finance and banking. That means real estate capitalization is double trouble. This is the concept of data symmetry, which is about maintaining consistent, accurate, and accessible data for all stakeholders and systems. Unfortunately, in a big industry like real estate, which is deeply intertwined with supply chain, project & asset management, compliance, and financialization, there becomes discrepancies between parties and whose information is “correct.” 🛣️ However, there is a way to bridge physical assets, digital twins, and their value (i.e. financial instruments) with an information-superhighway that Building, Inc calls the Intelligent Portfolio Platform. First, data needs a home base. It can’t be owned by one party or else it still risks manipulation, but it can’t be fragmented or else the data won’t be synced. The solution is a federated data room: a secure, distributed system that allows multiple stakeholders to access, share, and collaborate on data without centralizing it, ensuring privacy, control, and compliance across entities. 🔗 Using a combination of software integrations, sensors for real-time data, digital identities for stakeholders, and advanced analytics, we can pull millions of data points into the platform securely. Documents and their respective data received a digital fingerprint issued by the blockchain, along with some attributes about the source of the data, allowing stakeholders to trust (but also confirm, if they’d like) the information and apply it. The data room is never “exported as PDF,” instantly becoming outdated. It isn’t a backup copy for your filing cabinet with paper documents. It is the digital version of your property, without risk of down-time, outage, compromise, or corruption. 🌐 The result is symmetry between my software and yours, my books and yours, my risk and yours, my investment performance and yours. This is the transparency that financial institutions, investors, insurers, and municipalities want, rather than the opaqueness, data lag, or downright delusion that currently exists. This is the confidence that lets me take out a loan against my alternative asset because I know what it’s truly worth, everyday and indefinitely, and a lender fears less the risk of the collateral dissolving. 🏗️ Building, Inc: Discovering asset value and unlocking it with DeFi.

    🇸🇦 I’m sitting in Saudi Arabia, just an hour away from standing on stage and explaining how Building, Inc has revolutionized tokenized real estate by collecting and ‘structuring’ property data. I’ve even attached a couple slides from the deck that I’m using at this 200,000 person event. What are the key takeaways? Here’s a summary: 💠 Real estate is entering the digital age. This is already increasing transparency, efficiency, and the effectiveness of workflows. It’s also turning “information” itself into an asset that lives alongside the physical property. Ref: Ralph Montague HOWEVER — digitizing a property isn’t a magic wand and it’s no longer the Wild West. Compliance, standards, and protocols are necessary for a seamless integration. Two technologies that are ensuring security and usefulness of the digital era are blockchain (sometimes called Decentralized Ledger) and artificial intelligence (AI). 💾 Secure and ‘structured’ real estate data resolves a few issues that commercial real estate in particular has struggled with for decades. It creates “symmetry,” by aligning stakeholders (sometimes 20 or more individual companies) and gives them a golden copy of asset information. This enhances trust. It also increases access to two very important things: capital and knowledge. Streamlined processes and seamless collaboration makes projects more successful, making them better investments. 🌐 I’ve been on 4 of 7 continents now and I say this wherever I go: the solution to onboarding real estate to the blockchain isn’t with better tech — it’s with better real estate! Digital asset directors for top institutions nod their head in agreement. Real estate is a risky asset class in a murky private market. But data-driven, tokenized real estate…that’s the future.
