For the capital intensive ones working on decarbonizing our industrial sectors, that requires a focus on proving that their core technology works. But having a successful pilot is in many ways just the first step in the journey to deployment at scale. We are hiring! Mark1 is looking for a Head of Commercialization to drive the growth of emerging climate technologies. In this role you’ll work with our technology partners to develop comprehensive commercialization strategies including pursuing offtake origination, contract structuring and coordination with project finance to help bring First-of-a-Kind industrial climate projects to life. The first of a kind ("FOAK") funding gap, the deep "valley of death" faced by climate tech founders between demonstration and commercialization, is a critical bottleneck to the energy transition. Mark1 supports entrepreneurs in creating a pathway to scale, through structured support across all aspects of large-scale project development, and brings together key stakeholders that are critical to the success of the project — crowding in the ecosystem early and smoothing the path to bankability. Mark1 was co-created by RMI, Deep Science Ventures, and Third Derivative, supported by visionary partners: Builders Vision, a leading philanthropy and impact platform who, through their energy investment vehicle, are supporting initiatives focused on scaling FOAK projects in hard-to-abate sectors. Additionally, Fluor Corporation, an industry leader in energy transition and one of the most active EPC firms in climate tech as a scaleup and #EPCThoughtPartner.
