Last night, Burson Global CEO Corey duBrowa took the stage with Publisher Nicholas Johnston at the Axios Communicators LIVE event to discuss the increasing importance of building reputation capital for success in today's volatile and ever-changing world. Thank you to our partners at Axios for bringing together this amazing community of communications professionals and making the night such a success!
What a terrific turnout last evening for the Axios Communicators LIVE event. Huge kudos to Nicholas Johnston, Eleanor Hawkins (and Sara Fischer) for everything they’ve built — both the title and the event series. Axios Communicators is now a must-read every Thursday for communicators of all stripes. And it was wonderful to see a fully packed house at the event, as guests absorbed insights and inspiration from a stellar lineup of comms experts including Katie Hill, my friend and former Google colleague Rob Shilkin (of whom I am so incredibly proud), Jordan Zaslav, Lindsey Held Bolton and Kareem Rahma (who was drop-dead hilarious and real). It was great to be in conversation with Nick about the increasing importance of building reputation capital for success in today’s volatile and ever-changing world, and the variety of factors beyond just trust that go into building reputation. Ultimately, nearly every business is facing headwinds and no shortage of challenges on every possible front, so as communicators it is incumbent on us to understand all of the risks and chart the path through to mitigation. Technology now gives us the ability to develop tools (grounded in cognitive AI) to more predictively map the road through these issues for our clients, and it was fun to talk about the future direction of travel for our industry. But what struck me most about last night was Axios’ ability to bring together our community of communications professionals who are all at the top of their craft and give them the chance to connect and learn from each other. It really was a rare opportunity and sometimes — when these moments happen — it’s helpful to pause and reflect for a moment about the power and potential of our community. For change, for good, for each other. As an organization, Burson is incredibly proud to stand alongside Axios as a sponsor for events such as these.
