How are Stanford Department of Medicine experts improving diabetes management through AI? Find out here: bit.ly/3ZkGeVo Although physicians have strived to make improvements to intensive diabetes management, most U.S. patients are still not achieving the level of diabetes control needed to reduce complications and long-term risks. To solve this problem, Stanford Medicine experts Dr. David Maahs and Dr. Priya Prahalad have implemented significant advances in diabetes management by building AI tools that allow diabetes caregivers to quickly identify which patients most need their help, enabling adolescent Type 1 diabetes patients to have better control of their blood sugar levels. “We look at the percentage of time the continuous glucose monitor has been worn, and if it's below a certain threshold, that's our first starting point. Sometimes people have lost their prescription for their CGM, continuous glucose monitor, and need a new one. We're able to reach out and help them.” said Dr. David Maahs, Pediatric Endocrinologist at Stanford Children's Health. Study leader Dr. Priya Prahalad was on an expert panel that met three times in 2024 with the Diabetes Technology Society (DTS) (see: https://lnkd.in/gVNuy22d). Join other industry experts who will be at the 24th Annual Diabetes Technology Meeting October 15-17.
