What an incredible year 2024 has been! Some amazing connections have been made at our monthly meetups, we’ve made great strides in the BWC organisation as a whole, and we are looking forward to an amazing 2025! Come along with us on a little walk down memory lane. ✨ 2024 saw us as an incorporated not-for-profit, allowing us to provide more resources to the BWC community in the coming future. ✨ Our board & friends were lucky to take part in a private tour & dinner at Parliament House, courtesy of Robyn Clarke MLA, where we learned more about the history of women in Parliament. ✨ We underwent a strategic planning session with the indomitable Maree Gooch, who very generously helped us set our sights and focus on some amazing initiatives & big goals for the BWC. ✨ We organised 12 monthly meetups in 2024! We are so proud of the vibrant community that has grown this year - a collective of strong, intelligent, aspirational women who truly back each other & lift each other up. Thank you to Boundary Island Brewery & The Crafted Pantry for hosting us this year! ✨ We formed a Grants sub-committtee to assist the board in applying for funds to provide more resources to our BWC community. They have already secured some funding for a microphone & speaker! A huge thank you to Wendy Wiley, Laura Roach, Carly Crouch, Natalie Skeggs, & Maree Gooch for the work they’ve done this year! ✨ The BWC community were invited to an evening at Parliament House as guests of Robyn Clarke MLA, Lisa Munday MLA, and David Templeman MLA. It was an informative night and a pleasure to get the chance to discuss women in business with our local representatives. ✨ Our annual Long Table Lunch in October was an inspiring day - we raised over $6,500 in support of OVIS Community Services at Redgum Winery! Our keynote speaker, Amber Kearns, shared her story with such openness and vulnerability. We are so grateful to all of our sponsors & everyone who donated their time & resources to this successful day. ✨ The BWC committee were invited to attend a meeting with Minister Ellery (Minister for Finance, Commerce & Women’s Interests) as part of the Community Cabinet program. This private audience was an incredible opportunity to discuss upcoming initiatives that will support local businesses, empower women, and strengthen community development. ✨ And finally, our Ho-Ho-Holiday Party! We had a fun morning at Boundary Island Brewery, celebrating the year & all of our successes in 2024! Here’s to a beautiful holiday season, we hope you have a safe Christmas and a very happy new year! We’ll see you in 2025! 📸 LTL Photos courtesy of Starbright Wonderland Photography!
