  • What an incredible year 2024 has been! Some amazing connections have been made at our monthly meetups, we’ve made great strides in the BWC organisation as a whole, and we are looking forward to an amazing 2025! Come along with us on a little walk down memory lane. ✨ 2024 saw us as an incorporated not-for-profit, allowing us to provide more resources to the BWC community in the coming future. ✨ Our board & friends were lucky to take part in a private tour & dinner at Parliament House, courtesy of Robyn Clarke MLA, where we learned more about the history of women in Parliament. ✨ We underwent a strategic planning session with the indomitable Maree Gooch, who very generously helped us set our sights and focus on some amazing initiatives & big goals for the BWC. ✨ We organised 12 monthly meetups in 2024! We are so proud of the vibrant community that has grown this year - a collective of strong, intelligent, aspirational women who truly back each other & lift each other up. Thank you to Boundary Island Brewery & The Crafted Pantry for hosting us this year! ✨ We formed a Grants sub-committtee to assist the board in applying for funds to provide more resources to our BWC community. They have already secured some funding for a microphone & speaker! A huge thank you to Wendy Wiley, Laura Roach, Carly Crouch, Natalie Skeggs, & Maree Gooch for the work they’ve done this year! ✨ The BWC community were invited to an evening at Parliament House as guests of Robyn Clarke MLA, Lisa Munday MLA, and David Templeman MLA. It was an informative night and a pleasure to get the chance to discuss women in business with our local representatives. ✨ Our annual Long Table Lunch in October was an inspiring day - we raised over $6,500 in support of OVIS Community Services at Redgum Winery! Our keynote speaker, Amber Kearns, shared her story with such openness and vulnerability. We are so grateful to all of our sponsors & everyone who donated their time & resources to this successful day. ✨ The BWC committee were invited to attend a meeting with Minister Ellery (Minister for Finance, Commerce & Women’s Interests) as part of the Community Cabinet program. This private audience was an incredible opportunity to discuss upcoming initiatives that will support local businesses, empower women, and strengthen community development. ✨ And finally, our Ho-Ho-Holiday Party! We had a fun morning at Boundary Island Brewery, celebrating the year & all of our successes in 2024! Here’s to a beautiful holiday season, we hope you have a safe Christmas and a very happy new year! We’ll see you in 2025! 📸 LTL Photos courtesy of Starbright Wonderland Photography! Thanks, Suzanne Jones!

  • 👋 MEET THE BOARD / SUE DALEY Sue is an accomplished business leader specialising in residential and commercial property transformations. As the founder of DRT Enterprises WA Pty Ltd and co-owner of Maiolo Constructions Pty Ltd, she excels in renovations, commercial refurbishments, and innovative housing solutions like Pocket Condos — Tiny Homes WA, advocating for tiny homes as a way to address the housing crisis. Expanding her portfolio, she will launch Design Renovate Transform and Prestige Property Angels in 2025, focusing on luxury renovations and concierge services. WHY BWC? Passionate about empowering women in business and recognising the value of collaboration, Sue gladly joined her fellow champions in founding BWC, creating opportunities for women to connect, support, and give back to the community. WHAT'S YOUR STAR SIGN? A firey Scorpio (even though it’s a water sign) with Sagittarius rising. Intuitive with an innate sense of when someone is not being honest. Has all the typical Scorpio traits but finds grudge holding a waste of energy, so always forgives, just never forgets. CURRENT MUSIC/PODCAST/BOOK/MOVIE OBSESSION: Favourite book is The Alchemist and favourite book series is Charley Davidson by Darynda Jones. The Charley Davidson books are the only books that have ever made me laugh out loud. One of my favourite quotes from these books is “Lead me not into temptation. Follow me instead! I know a shortcut!” WHAT IS SOMETHING MORE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU? An introvert that loves my own space, prefer dogs over people (Luna is my third Boxer and my second rescue) and would rather stay home than go out. Another reason why BWC is so important to me. We love having you on the board Sue - thanks for everything!

  • We asked Michelle of Soulful Wisdoms to share her top 3 Scorpio-style ways to conquer menopause during Scorpio season. As Michelle explains, ""In Medical Astrology, the 12 zodiac signs and the 9 planets are closely associated with the anatomy and physiology of your body and therefore your health. Your birth chart is like a cheat sheet or a map that can help you to understand your own health signatures and who you truly are at your core. When you know this about yourself, life gets much easier, happier but best of all, healthier. The different life cycles we go through, especially as women with the peri- and menopausal hormonal roller-coaster, can be navigated with more ease, grace and compassion when you understand who you truly are. "" Swipe through, and reach out to Michelle for tips on how your star sign should navigate menopause! Plus, keep an eye out for the business card draw at the next BWC meeting for your chance to be featured next month! #womeninbusiness #femalefounders #femalebusinessowners #mandurahcommunity

  • Meet Michelle, the incredible woman behind Soulful Wisdoms! 👇🏻 📣 ABOUT MICHELLE: I am a curious person, driven to chase and follow the things that light me up, to leave behind the things that try to squash my energy or make me conform and to just be happy and healthy of mind and body. I seek to find answers and what True health looks like for me - I find transformative ways to help myself and, more importantly, to share this information, be a resource for and to help other people transform their own health and happiness. 💭 WHAT DO YOU DO? If I have to niche it (which I don't like doing) then I'd say I'm an Intuitive Health Coach. I use a combination of Astrology, Kinesiology and Human Design alongside my Medical background knowledge to help them to find their unique key to unlock what's at the root cause of their health concerns. 🤍 WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR BIZ? I love that I get to meet so many different people from all walks of life because health concerns do not discriminate - we all have them and no two people's charts are the same (even twins). I get great satisfaction from helping to bring awareness to people of who they are and how they are actually ""designed"" to just ""BE"" in this world. 💫 WHAT'S YOUR STAR SIGN? I am a Gemini Sun, Gemini Ascendant (Rising) and Aries Moon - so that makes me: An insatiably curious, WYSIWYG, passionate woman who loves learning and sees the world through the lens of childlike wonder that has all manner of possibility and potential. 🎧️ CURRENT MUSIC/PODCAST/BOOK/MOVIE OBSESSION: The Resetters Podcast by Dr Mindy Pelz - She is a passionate lady who is on a mission to empower women to take control of their own health, a mission not dissimilar to my own and so much so that I became a qualified Fast Like A Girl (F.L.A.G) Health Coach under her Brand. 💥 SOMETHING MORE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT YOU: Even though I have blue hair, which makes me very easy to spot in a crowd, I actually do not like being front and center of attention. The blue is purely for me. Thanks Michelle! We love having you as part of the BWC community 💛 #womeninbusiness #femalefounders #femalebusinessowners #mandurahcommunity
