This has been the year for action on data governance and AI. Last month, I attended two OECD - OCDE Working Party meetings in Paris. From a data and AI perspective, I was blown away by the ambitious programme of work due to complete/being planned. If you aren’t familiar with OECD’s work, it’s worth a look at the resources they’ve already published: https://lnkd.in/dR3TMSZS As a member of two expert OECD communities (Data Free Flow with Trust and AI, Data and Privacy), I’ve provided input into the intersection of AI and Data, as well as technologies that can help facilitate the greater sharing of data, such as Privacy Enhancing Technologies. These often misunderstood set of technologies can help enable the creation of AI-ready data, in particular synthetic data, and also help foster greater innovation. Check out the OECD work in this space:   https://lnkd.in/d7WeFHwf While in Paris, I was also fortunate to attend the OECD Digital Trust Convention. Bringing together experts from the public and private sector, it was a fascinating discussion on the rise of sophisticated deepfakes through the use of GenAI and the growing distrust of content online.   Here’s a challenge for you as we enter the holiday season, relaxing with family and friends. Earlier this month, Paris became the global hub for competition policy discussions as the OECD hosted its 23rd Global Forum on Competition welcoming more than 350 high-level officials from 105+ authorities and organisations worldwide. 🗣️ Today, our Executive Director Hanni Rosenbaum spoke at a conference on the "Benefits of Croatia’s Accession to the #OECD" organized by Vlada Republike Hrvatske (Government of the Republic of Croatia)’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Croatia, Hrvatska udruga poslodavaca - Croatian Employers` Association, OECD - OCDE, European Commission & us. She joined Minister Gordan Grlić Radman, OECD Economy’s Alvaro Santos Pereira, Podravka’s President Martina Dalić & #HUP’s President Mihael Furjan. She underlined the importance of the #OECD focusing on #competitiveness in both member state & accession countries. We appreciate close cooperation with our observer #HUP.

I was delighted to participate in last week’s OECD Competition Committee meetings on behalf of Business at OECD (BIAC)! The meetings also included the annual Global Forum on Competition with over 100 jurisdictions represented and roundtable discussions on a broad range of topics including (1) cross-border mergers, (2) competition and inequality, (3) the standard and burden of proof in competition law cases, (4) competition and democracy, (5) the use of structural presumptions in antitrust, (6) competition and regulation in the care industry, and (7) competition in the food supply chain. Congratulations to the OECD Competition Law and Policy Secretariat on the topical and substantive discussions and another round of successful Competition Committee meetings!

This event, which focused on " Health as an Economic Imperative,” brought together the private and public sectors. During the session dedicated to emerging technologies and Artificial Intelligence, Jesus shared insights on how they can positively impact the healthcare system by: 💡 Optimizing system resources for greater efficiency 💡 Empowering clinicians with tools to enhance productivity 💡 Leveraging data to improve patient outcomes while maintaining rigorous safeguards The attendees highlighted the need for balanced policies, ethical standards, and global collaboration to transform healthcare delivery and reduce inequalities while driving sustainable health systems.
