Spark Wonder. Invent Possible
About us
The Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention is a museum of ideas. The question is not what you will see, but what will you imagine and create. Dr. James Robert Cade, a kidney specialist at the University of Florida, was best known as the leader of the research team that invented Gatorade in 1965. Dr. Cade and his family established The Cade Museum Foundation in 2004. Their goal was to create a museum to inspire creativity and invention. They succeeded in creating a hands-on adventure in science for all ages. The mission of the museum is to transform communities by inspiring and equipping future inventors, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. The Cade Museum for Creativity & Invention offers interactive activities in the Creativity and Fab Labs, hands-on learning in the rotunda, outdoor educational activities, traveling exhibits, and much, much, more. Cade programming and events are designed to engage guests in "purposeful creativity," the kind that leads to great inventions, new businesses, and ideas that change the world.

What’s the dishwashers best friend you ask? Soap of course! But did you know that soap is both hydrophilic (water-attracting) and hydrophobic (water-repelling)? The hydrophobic tails attach to grease or dirt while the hydrophilic heads bond with water. This dual action allows the soap to effectively lift and disperse grease and dirt, making it easier to rinse away! Josephine Cochran invented the dishwasher when others who tried were unsuccessful. With no inventor convinced that domestic dishwashing was a worthwhile endeavor, Cochran determined, “If nobody else is going to invent a dishwashing machine, I’ll do it myself.” Learn more about other dessert and clean-up related inventions at https://lnkd.in/gctaqahZ #GivingThanksForOurInventors #Inventivity #USPTO #Thanksgiving

Did you know that the canned pumpkin we see on most grocery store shelves were first planted and grown by Elijah Dickinson. And guess what? It’s not technically pumpkin! The Dickinson Pumpkin belongs to the squash species known as Cucurbita moschata. Whether your favorite dessert is made with chocolate or pumpkin, there are so many inventors to thank! We can thank Elijah Dickinson for canned pumpkin, Gail Borden for condensed milk, and Kenneth James Poole for the pie crust and edge maker. And if you love ice cream with your pie, we can’t forget Alfred Cralle, who invented the ice cream scoop!
