Beacon Broadband, Inc. celebrates their first inaugural graduation ceremony for their Connected Senior: Digital Literacy Program in partnership with Calix! 🎉 The program pairs senior citizens with high school students to help them learn the basics of computer technology and bridge the digital generation gap. In Valdosta, Georgia, Clearwave Fiber stepped up in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene by: 🛜 Using Calix GigaSpires and the Calix Platform to activate hotspots across town, helping residents contact their loved ones, access emergency services, and more. 📱 Sharing hotspot updates via Clearwave social channels and providing device charging stations and bottled water at each location. As recovery efforts unfolded, Clearwave’s commitment to their community drove tremendous growth—so much so they brought in installers from nearby markets to keep up with subscriber demand. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, French Broad EMC showed true community resilience, deploying Wi-Fi across western North Carolina in just 4 days using Calix SmartTown.
