About us

Call for Culture is a Black owned, woman-owned business that exists to drive positive and bold social change by transforming organizations and leaders into conscious changemakers from the inside out. We believe that if it's happening in the world, it's happening at work - which means it's time to challenge tired leadership paradigms and empower leaders to create impactful legacies by shaping responsible, inclusive, equitable, and change-ready workplace cultures. By stepping outside of the traditional boundaries of HR, we take an actionable, multidisciplinary approach (The Call for Culture Method) to help companies, organizations, and industries hone the capabilities and strategies they need to future proof their organization and transform them into human-centered workplaces that create social impact.

Reimagining the role of workplace culture in social change

I'm excited to welcome our very own Raymond Achille as a key contributor to Culture Impact Lab 2025! In addition to running all things Operations at Call for Culture, Ray is the founder and CEO of Balance Period. He is an award-winning wellness coach and mindfulness practitioner with a degree in kinesiology from Indiana University and over a decade of experience in the health and wellness industry. After being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism in 2017, Ray dedicated his time and energy to understanding how he can maintain optimal well-being and pass down healthier habits to the next generation of his family. He now uses what he learned to empower others to improve their quality of life and be the change they want to see in their family and community. Ray will be one of the leading us through a series of what we're calling "palette cleansers" throughout the 2 days to create space for integration of the material, speaker insight, and problem solving with the community. He'll do this with a series of mindful moments and opportunities for movement, so participants are nourished - mind and body. Reimagining the role of workplace culture in social change

We're kicking off your morning with another exciting Call for Culture Impact Lab speaker announcement! Michel Fabode is a culture design consultant who brings over 20 years of experience across healthcare, technology, and advisory services. In 2019, Michel began providing strategic consulting on organizational culture specifically for founders of early-stage, venture-backed companies. After seeing a need for more resources tailored to these leaders committed to building diverse and inclusive teams, she founded The Culture Design Lab in 2022. Her work with participants at the Culture Impact Lab will be grounded in application and decades of experience shaping thriving and inclusive organizational cultures. This is especially important as we navigate a pivotal moment in workplace dynamics, characterized by significant generational shifts and evolving expectations. The need for intentional, responsive organizational cultures has never been more critical. Michel's talk will introduce a revolutionary approach to culture design that addresses the demands of an increasingly diverse workforce and positions businesses as catalysts for innovation and social progress. Drawing from her book, CULTŪRA: A Guidebook for Founders Building Diverse Teams, and extensive experience in human capital and organizational development, this talk will present a comprehensive framework for creating workplace cultures that are adaptive, purpose-driven, and inclusive. We will explore how to move beyond reactive approaches to generational changes and instead build proactive, responsive cultures that align with evolving societal values and business needs. Reimagining the role of workplace culture in social change

Excited to welcome Ari Honarvar to the Culture Impact Lab 2025 stage! Ari is an award-winning writer, speaker, and artist dedicated to building bridges between the arts, social justice, and well-being. In her work with thousands of refugees and frontline workers, she's focused on a renewal fuel that can transform our relationship with ourselves, each other, and the spaces we spend time in. In a world that has normalized the dehumanization of people at work, Ari's work is focused on reparative rehumanization, informed by her own experience as an unaccompanied 14-year-old immigrant, along with her background in medical research and work with trauma experts. Her interactive talk will delve into nueroaesthetics, an emerging field that explores how art, beauty, and sensory experiences impact the brain, promote well-being, and contribute to the human experience. You'll hear more about how people instinctively turn to communal arts like dance, music, and play as acts of reparative rehumanization. These creative expressions are not just survival mechanisms; they are essential for healing, rebuilding community bonds, energizing workplace culture, and fortifying our nervous systems. What’s effective for refugees and essential workers is universally applicable, and participants will learn about tools and tactics to strengthen relationships, increase collaboration, and enhance well-being in any context. Fractional Human Resources // I build & scale people ops at startups

Unlike SHRM, I'm not abandoning equity in 2025—I'm doubling down on it. This spring, I'll be heading to Chicago to attend Culture Impact Lab, an equity-centered conference for work culture and change leaders keen on reimagining the role of work in societal change. [Yes, I know. I just described myself.] Call for Culture was founded by Angela R. Howard, who, like me, believes that equity-centered and people-first organizational cultures transcend workplace boundaries, impacting the communities around them. The speakers she has lined up for the Culture Impact Lab promise to offer fresh perspectives, expert knowledge, and—perhaps most importantly—nuance around their diverse, lived experiences. And we desperately need more nuance in 2025. Will 2025 finally be the year that we embrace the reality that "if it's happening in the world, it's happening at work?" I sure hope so. Who wants to join me? The link to register is in the comments. #culture #diversity #equity #startups #founders
