Are you a counselor, therapist, or ministry leader? Or are you a layperson who simply empathizes with the oppressed, and desires to assist them in an effective way? Are you a survivor, who is ready to take your healing a step further and help others in the new year? Starting on Tuesday, Jan., 7, we present the House of Peace Publications Advocacy Course, offering nearly 100 hours of instruction — led by Dr. Debra Wingfield and Joy Forrest (MABC) — on understanding the dynamics of coercive control through a Biblical lens. Classes cover prevention, intervention, and healing the trauma women and children experience after abuse. Many survivors have reported that the courses changed the trajectory of their life, and had a significant impact on healing and overcoming the impacts of abuse; they were able to identify previously hidden effects they weren't aware of, or were unsure how to navigate. Counselors, pastors and ministry leaders have told us how much the classes have changed their understanding of domestic abuse/oppression, and has equipped them to effectively respond to this difficult and complex issue. Become a voice for the oppressed! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eD6NQh_P When you successfully complete the entire year of courses, you are eligible to become a CTPM-affiliated advocate, where you will receive continued support and counsel from our Advocate Coordinators.

I once believed our relationship was beautiful. After my husband and I were married, I started to experience coercive control. The abuse eventually escalated to my husband not only physically hurting me but also our boys. For 8 years I reached out to my church for help, but their response made things worse. Once I found Called to Peace Ministries, I had an advocate and joined a support group, and CTPM met with my new pastor to help guide him through the best way to serve our family...” Because of your generosity, we met the matching grant from Leslie Vernick- we only have $15,289 to go to meet our goal of raising $160,000 by MIDNIGHT! Will you please partner with us in the final hours of 2024 to change a woman's life who is living through the destruction of domestic abuse?

Children who grow up with domestic violence experience devastating effects: 🔺 About 30% of abused and neglected children will later abuse their own children, continuing the horrible cycle of abuse* 🔺 About 80% of 21-year-olds that were abused as children met the criteria for at least one psychological disorder* 🔺 Boys from homes where domestic violence is present are 25 times more likely to commit rape as an adult and 6 times more likely to commit suicide* 🔺 The estimated annual cost of child abuse and neglect in the US is $585 billion. Child abuse crosses all socioeconomic and educational levels, religions, and ethnic and cultural groups* A donation to Called to Peace Ministries will help us provide advocacy care and train churches to keep her and her children safe giving them peace for generations to come. As we have served 787 women and men, we have also been able to impact 878 children through the support their mom received. Pray about giving a generous gift before the end of 2024! Help us reach our goal of raising $160,000 to serve more women AND their children who are longing for hope after experiencing domestic abuse! *From CTPM Advocacy Course: House of Peace Publications
