🌊 Algerian Blue Economy Conference 2024: A Milestone in Maritime Cooperation and Innovation 🚀 On 15 October 2024, Leanovator (Leancubator) Hosted at Dar Errais, Complexe Touristique Sidi Fredj, the Blue Workshops alongside the Algerian Conference on the Blue Economy 2024. This event brought together key players from Algeria and the Western Mediterranean region to discuss and explore innovative and sustainable approaches to developing the maritime sector. Under the joint patronage of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Micro-enterprises, as well as the Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy as well as the Ministry of Fisheries and Fishery Products.   Featuring enriching conferences, engaging round tables, and hands-on workshops led by national and international experts from callmeblue consortium partners through the strong participation of high-level representatives of Cluster BIG - Blue Italian Growth , Strategis - Maritime Center of Excellence Union for the Mediterranean, WestMed National Hub for Italy, CMT. The workshop highlighted the Cluster's role in fostering collaboration among Mediterranean maritime clusters, with initiatives like Callmeblue advancing a sustainable blue economy regionally. 🌐 Key Insights from the Conference: Strategies for financing and insuring Blue Economy projects. Discussions on biodiversity conservation and the growing role of eco-tourism. Promotion of sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices. This event united public and private stakeholders, including representatives from Tunisia's Maritime Affairs, Environment, Tourism, and Transport ministries, along with international partners like the EU Delegation, Federazione del Mare, and #WestMed. The discussions focused on the challenges facing Tunisia's maritime industries and the growing impact of collaborative efforts. 🎯 Empowering Youth in Maritime Careers The workshop highlighted the Cluster's dedication to equipping young people for careers in the blue economy. Through innovative "lab companies," young professionals gain hands-on experience in sustainable practices and entrepreneurship, essential for building a resilient maritime sector. 📚 Boosting Maritime Training & Innovation To meet the sector's demand for skilled professionals, the Cluster announced enhanced maritime training initiatives. Starting in 2025, a dedicated scientific journal will promote research and innovation in maritime topics, serving as a knowledge hub for Tunisia and beyond. 🌐 Strengthening Regional Collaboration The workshop underscored the Cluster's leadership in promoting collaboration across Mediterranean maritime clusters, including projects like Callmeblue, which support a sustainable blue economy at both regional and global levels.
