Take a peek of what goes on in GrC 320, Managing Quality in Graphic Communication! Students in this class have been working all quarter on their “Applied Quality Projects.” Applied Quality Projects involve rebranding a company or product/service, designing improved packaging, creating an app or website, or conduct an improvement project for a real organization. This is a great project that demonstrates Cal Poly’s Learn By Doing method and a great portfolio piece! Here are the results of a group who chose to design a roommate finding app for Cal Poly Students! #CalPolyGrC #CalPoly #GraphicCommunication #GrCClasses #ClassSpotlight #LearnByDoing

Meet Ken Macro, one of the GrC advisors! He began teaching at Cal Poly in 2002. His favorite part about teaching is physically running across the front of the room during a lecture, talking loudly and watching everyone’s heads follow in shock. Ken earned a Bachelor of Arts in General Arts and Sciences from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Arts in English, Composition from University of Akron, and a Ph.D. in Education, Knowledge Management from Walden University. Fun fact, he used to be the GrC department chair! #CalPolyGrC #CalPolySLO #GraphicCommunication #AdvisorSpotlight

Meet Natalie Garbarino! She’s a fourth-year from San Jose, California, and is concentrating in DRT (Design Reproduction Technology). 🎨 When she’s not focusing on GrC, she loves making use of the craft center on campus to make ceramics!🏺 “I love how GrC gives me a comprehensive understanding of not only how to create designs for various mediums, but also a more technical understanding of how to optimize design quality for a given output. I am someone who likes to understand the ‘why’ behind design decisions, and GrC gives me that.” #CalPolyGrC #CalPolySLO #CalPoly #StudentSpotlight #GraphicCommunication
