We’re back at day two of the 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes in Vancouver, British Columbia! Things got started this morning with a project showcase highlighting the research led by the recipients of the CMIE’s Development Fund (CMIEDF). We were excited to hear such promising updates on the innovative work that’s being supported by the CMIEDF. We also heard from Dr. Rebecca Wong (University Health Network) and Dr. Neil Vasdev (CAMH) about their work at two of Canada’s leading hospitals. For our final panel, we heard from leaders in Canada’s radiopharmaceutical sector about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the industry. This afternoon, attendees at the 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes were lucky to visit TRIUMF’s site in Vancouver for a tour of their facility. Participants were excited to see the world’s largest cyclotron in-person, and to learn about the innovative work that TRIUMF’s team leads. As we wrap up the first day of the symposium, we look forward to connecting with attendees at this evening’s reception! See you there!

It has been an exciting morning here in Vancouver for the 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes! We were pleased to hear from two of our sponsors, Bruce Power and the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council, who highlighted their important work within Canada’s medical isotope sector.
