It's hard to believe that nearly one month has passed since we hosted our 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes in Vancouver. Among the many highlights of the event were the presentations delivered by the recipients of our CMIE Development Fund - Ac225 BioTherapeutics, Yellowbird Diagnostics, Inc., University of Ottawa Heart Institute, and ProteinQure. We're proud to support these innovative Canadian companies as they lead their groundbreaking research. We’re back at day two of the 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes in Vancouver, British Columbia! Things got started this morning with a project showcase highlighting the research led by the recipients of the CMIE’s Development Fund (CMIEDF). We were excited to hear such promising updates on the innovative work that’s being supported by the CMIEDF. We also heard from Dr. Rebecca Wong (University Health Network) and Dr. Neil Vasdev (CAMH) about their work at two of Canada’s leading hospitals. For our final panel, we heard from leaders in Canada’s radiopharmaceutical sector about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the industry. It has been an exciting morning here in Vancouver for the 1st Annual Symposium on Medical Isotopes! We were pleased to hear from two of our sponsors, Bruce Power and the Canadian Nuclear Isotope Council, who highlighted their important work within Canada’s medical isotope sector. We also heard from experts from TRIUMF, McMaster University, Bruce Power, Yellowbird Diagnostics, Inc., and Centre for Probe Development and Commercialization (CPDC) who are leading innovative research and projects to find new ways to use medical isotopes to save lives. Finally, we were excited to hear from MP Pam Damoff, who delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Canada and shared updates on her work to garner further support for the isotope industry at the federal level.
