In the last few weeks I have been disappointed in many of our tech leaders who instead of denouncing strong words from the south, have instead embraced them. I for one stand for Canada and this great community. I love our neighbours to the south, but I stand proudly Canadian in supporting every inch of this country from sea to sea. May 2025, make Canada stronger and more focused on what makes it great. As we step into 2025, my vision for the Canadian Cybersecurity Community revolves around three key priorities: Collaboration for Career Growth: Let’s all support individuals aspiring to grow their cybersecurity careers. This includes mentorship, accessible training, and clear pathways to success in this essential field. Take a bit of time and help a few people this year. Support Canadian Innovation: Let’s all support small businesses. A renewed focus on buying Canadian cybersecurity products and services, while investing in smaller businesses struggling to navigate regulatory and technological challenges. A thriving local ecosystem benefits us all. Buy and recommend Canadian companies. Cybersecurity for All: Let’s accelerate the pace of cyber literacy. Continued efforts to improve cybersecurity literacy, especially for vulnerable populations. Empowering everyone to protect themselves online is a responsibility we must share. Literacy reduces cyber crime.🍁
