Thank you, inAtalent, for hosting a fantastic volunteer event where high school students made and donated beautiful no-sew blankets, along with a knitted cap, candy, and ChapStick! Each blanket took about 1.5 hours to make, and we are so grateful for the students' generosity and time. Your kindness will bring warmth and comfort to so many! #ThankYou #Grateful #CommunitySupport #VolunteerAppreciation #CancerCare #CancerCAREpoint #Bayarea #SanJose

Cancer CAREpoint (non-profit organization) reposted this
So far this year, there have been some incredible guests on the Guiding Grief podcast including: Ryan Wright, pastor and wellness coordinator providing counseling and resources to Santa Clara police and fire departments. Ryan is wise, compassionate and kind and he offers some valuable insights in the January 2024 episode. Next was the amazing Stephanie Poirier from Parting Stone . Stephanie shared some heartwarming stories and information about Parting Stone's unique solidified remains. Lisa Pahl, LCSW and co-founded of The Death Deck and End Of Life (EOL Deck) talked about her experience in hospice and how caring for one of her patients lead to the creation of The Death Deck, a resource to help people have open conversations about death and dying. Cancer CAREpoint (non-profit organization) counselor, Julianna Halvorsen shared her experience working with people diagnosed with cancer and the unique grief they and their family carry. And last month, Jennifer Sarmento of the Kyle J. Taylor Foundation talked openly about the loss of her son from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and how the Foundation created in his name is conducting heart screenings on the student athletes in our community. If you've missed any of these episodes, they're available on Spotify and Apple podcasts along with the KCAT TV 15 and Guiding Grief YouTube channels. More incredible conversations are on the horizon.... #guidinggrief #grief #grieving #podcast #darlingfischer #losgatosmemorialpark #kcattv15 #life #love #loss #support #family #community #connection
