  • This #GivingTuesday, Cancer Patient Lab would like to honor Rick Stanton, a good friend and one of our co-founders, who sadly passed away this year. Driven by a lifelong battle with cancer, Rick utilised his background in genomics and bioinformatics to help others living with advanced cancer, translating complex diagnostic reports and offering personalized insights that could help patients uncover novel treatment options. Rick tirelessly gave his time and energy to support others with cancer. Your donation enables us to continue his work helping advanced cancer patients find personalized treatment options💙 https://lnkd.in/eGqsXH2A #PersonalizedMedicine #CancerSupport

  • Meet Burt Rosen, a man who loves adventure, who is a selfless advocate, and who also happens to live with two cancers (renal clear cell carcinoma and advanced pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors). In our recent Learning Session with Burt, we discussed his love of integrative medicine, his drive to learn everything he can about his cancers, and how he views cancer as a gift that helps him prioritise what's really important. We can all learn a lot about life with cancer, and life in general, from Burt. Learn more about Burt's journey on the Cancer Patient Lab community - https://bit.ly/4fdBxS8.

  • Advanced #ProstateCancer patients are always searching for more treatment options, as each therapy eventually fails. Immunotherapy treatments are very attractive since they can result in a more durable response, and the side effects can be less severe. Prostate cancer has been considered a harder cancer type to apply immunotherapies to, yet research continues on new approaches. One of these is using a particular protein, the Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF), to control the immune response. The translational goal is to make prostate cancer respond to immunotherapies. Join Cancer Patient Lab and Ida Deichaite on Wednesday October 30th for a learning session on the role of TNF in advanced prostate cancer. Reserve your space here - https://bit.ly/4eWrAZf

  • “As a nurse, I was the one to do the caregiver services. Having to be that person to navigate their care, knowing that there isn't any treatment available at the time of their diagnosis. I needed mental health services, but nobody offered it to me. They just assumed that because I was a caregiver, I didn't need to have that struggle, I didn't have those issues that regular caregivers go through in terms of finding quality and balance in life.” – Rochelle Prosser If you missed our learning session - An Engaged Caregiver - with Rochelle Prosser, founder and CEO of Orchid Healthcare Solutions, you can watch the full session on our YouTube channel, https://bit.ly/4e1cPDr.
