From MSOs to Ohio-based companies--new and old--there lies significant opportunities ahead with the Buckeye State's adult-use cannabis sales launch. So far, 31 of Ohio's medical cannabis retailers and 15 cultivators received provisional licensure to transition their operations to the state’s forthcoming adult-use program. For the first time ever, maritime transport of state-legal cannabis in Massachusetts is now permitted. The reversal of the existing policy that banned transporting cannabis on intrastate waterways comes as part of a settlement in a lawsuit Vicente LLP filed against the state's Cannabis Control Commission on behalf of licensed dispensaries on the islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. Pennsylvania lawmakers release an adult-use cannabis legalization bill as the state's 6yo medical market cracks $6 billion in sales, rivaling Florida as the most robust medical market in the nation. State Reps. Aaron Kaufer and Emily Kinkead -- who wrote a memo June 17 to their House colleagues urging them to support the bill -- point to neighboring Ohio, saying the Buckeye State is "primed to open its [adult-use] market with the lion’s share of their licenses perched on the border of Pennsylvania as they seek to take capture Pennsylvania dollars into their market."
