  • 🌑 Happy Lunar New Year from Dovetail Genomics! 🐍 As we welcome the Year of the Snake, we’re excited to highlight some of the fascinating research on serpentine species that we’ve had the privilege of supporting over the past few years: ✨ Protecting Endangered Rattlesnakes: Our Hi-C sequencing data helped enhance the genome scaffolding of the Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnake (Sistrurus catenatus), uncovering critical links between neutral and functional genetic diversity to inform conservation efforts. [Link to study: https://lnkd.in/gW69rYyt] ✨ Unlocking Venom Genomics: Our technology played a key role in reconstructing the genomic architecture of venom myotoxins in the Prairie Rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis viridis), advancing understanding of venom diversity and its genetic regulation. [Link to study: https://lnkd.in/gZEWQWsq] ✨ Building Reference Genomes: Through our Omni-C™ technology, we contributed to high-quality genome assemblies for the Ring-Necked Snake (Diadophis punctatus) [https://lnkd.in/gvazjgcc], Rubber Boa (Charina bottae)[https://lnkd.in/gg8sXmwq], and California Glossy Snake (Arizona elegans occidentalis)[https://lnkd.in/gii9qFsn], aiding biodiversity research and conservation. The Year of the Snake reminds us of the intricate biology of these species and the power of genomics in uncovering their secrets. Wishing everyone happiness, prosperity, and groundbreaking discoveries in 2025! #LunarNewYear #YearOfTheSnake #Genomics #DovetailGenomics #SnakeResearch
