Guiding refugees and immigrants in the journey toward self-determination and social equality.
About us
CAPI USA, originally called The Centre for Asian and Pacific Islanders was founded in 1982 by a coalition of church groups helping refugees arriving from Southeast Asia in the aftermath of the Vietnam conflict. Since then our services have expanded towards refugees and immigrants arriving from East Africa, Nepal, Burma, and many other countries around the world. We exist to guide refugees and immigrants in their journey toward self-determination and social equality with assistance from a diverse, multi-lingual and caring staff committed to holistic, affirming services to help people of all nationalities adapt, lead successful and productive lives, and give back to our Twin Cities regional community.

Today is #GiveToTheMaxDay and we are almost halfway to our goal! Collectively, your generosity has helped us in serving over 11,000 community members each year. That means people are being fed, finding jobs to support stability, and gaining autonomy to pursue greater paths for themselves and their families. Together we can continue to provide welcome and critical resources to our refugee and immigrant neighbors. Make a donation at the link below: https://lnkd.in/eCdJKhK

CAPI staff come from all over the world and speak close to 15 languages. A part of what makes us so unique is that when a participant walks through the door, they will encounter people from their own communities that understand their journey and the incredible sacrifice it took to make it to Minnesota. 80% of our community members identify as immigrant, refugee, or asylee. Our job is to make sure that they receive all the support they need so they can thrive in their new home. Will you join us in our mission? Make a donation to the good work happening, and impact someone's life at the same time. 🫶 Give below: https://lnkd.in/eCdJKhK #GiveToTheMaxDay #GTMD24 #allarewelcome
