At the Regional Biophysics Conference (RBC2024) in Split, I presented the  Interreg Danube project CapTTict to regional researchers in the interdisciplinary field of biophysics. Get ready for action! We will soon begin recruiting teams with science-based ICT solutions to address various challenges, including those in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture, to join the incubation/acceleration program at the international level in the Danube region.

🤝 | The next partner in the CapTTict project is Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT). 🏫 | Since its foundation in 1994, the Institute has developed into one of the most successful new universities of applied sciences in Bavaria. Strongly rooted in the region of Lower Bavaria, the DIT offers a wide range of attractive courses in the fields of business, technology, digitalization and health. Around 8,600 students study at the campuses in Deggendorf, Pfarrkirchen and Cham, with a high proportion of international students. The DIT is committed to excellence in teaching, applied research and knowledge and technology transfer. It maintains close relationships with regional and international partners. Over the past ten years, DIT has developed the innovative concept of the Technology Campus, a network of decentralized research units in rural areas. These campuses address the local and regional R&D needs of industry, public and private stakeholders and promote technology-oriented regional development and transfer in rural areas. ➡️ The Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) will use its experience with technology campuses to support technology transfer and regional development within the CapTTict project. DIT's role includes contributing to the drafting of the the Guidelines for HEIs/PROs management on tech transfer in the field of ICT, organizing technology transfer capacity building workshops for HEIs/PROs management, assisting in the preparation of the transnational incubation/acceleration programme and helping to develop and pilot the methodology for the selection of ICT technologies for start-up incubation.In addition, DIT will use its role as coordinator of the Bavarian EDIH DInO to help collect and present data on available EDIH/EEN services for SMEs from several countries through a digital tool. While our experts are working on the specific objectives of the project, we would like to introduce you to the partner organisations involved in the CapTTict project. Starting with Vojvodina ICT Cluster (VOICT), the single point of contact with the best companies in Serbia with a workforce of 8,500+ experienced IT professionals working in member companies. 🏢 | Vojvodina ICT Cluster is a business association founded in 2010, through a bottom-up initiative of ICT companies and several supporting institutions. VOICT gathers IT companies, educational institutions and governmental bodies and it builds long-term relationships based on trust and quality, bringing expertise, experience and passion for excellence to each project. 🤝 | Activities towards this objective include further strengthening of the association, its positioning as the most relevant Serbian ICT institution within the country and abroad, building ever stronger network of international contacts, creating new business opportunities for the members, compiling and delivering sets of services to members and third parties, lobbying for improvement of business environment in Serbia, and popularization of ICT both in terms of generating more ICT professionals and enabling more penetration of these technologies throughout other sectors of Serbian economy. 🚀 | Here we go! 16 partners from 9 Danube countries in an Interreg Danube Region Programme project with the objective to boost capabilities in technology transfer, company establishment, and innovation within the ICT field. 🤝 | The kick-off meeting of the project took place on 4 and 5 April in Cluj, where the representatives of the partner organisations met in person for the first time and discussed the planned objectives. The event was hosted by CLUJ IT Cluster. A big thanks to Diana Campian and Andrei Kelemen, everything was perfectly planned. ➡ The main objective of the CapTTict project is to seek new synergies, cooperation and exchange of experiences between innovators in each country, while providing support services for developing business plans in the field of technology transfer and commercialisation. The project includes the creation of an incubation/acceleration programme which will support 30 promising ICT technologies. ➡ An equally important objective of the project is to map the ICT innovation environment in 4 non-EU partner countries (Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Ukraine) and supporting the development of their Smart Specialisation strategies.
