🇦🇪 It was our pleasure to be part of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) demo day, a UAE climate launchpad to support the Emirates’ net-zero goals. CDR companies remove carbon from the atmosphere. Then what? The end stage of most CDR processes is storage for the carbon we’ve removed. That carbon can take many forms. In our case, they’re carbonates. In chemistry, a carbonate is an ion consisting of one carbon and three oxygen atoms. In more simple terms, this is enables Carbon to be locked in a solid, stable form which traps it for 10-100,000+++ years. The MOST important thing about CDR storage is that it needs to be permanent. After all, what's the point of taking it out of the atmosphere if it can just as easily revert back?
