Mandated Disclosure of Carbon Emissions Now Law The mandated disclosure of extensive carbon emissions data was passed by Parliament on 9 September. This legislation impacts all businesses not just the large corporations which are required to commence reporting from January 2025. The legislation requires the reporting of carbon emissions from suppliers to their larger company customers. The time is now to start working out a plan to firstly identify a starting point and then develop a roadmap to reduce emissions in a way that is financially sustainable for the business. My SME friends, don't be alarmed by the headline of this article, although it is an interesting article. There are many options to reduce carbon emissions that don't cost your business money. Consider discussing with your team different options for their commute to work. Could they carpool? Could they take public transport? Perhaps start with one day a week. Could they walk some of the way? None of those changes cost money, but they would all reduce your carbon footprint.
