Does your organization or local gov have a brilliant idea to support your community? Take a look at this year’s AARP Community Challenge grants!
Have an idea for a small project that can make a big impact in your community? Eligible nonprofits and local governments can apply for an AARP 2025 Community Challenge grant through March 5. Part of our Livable Communities initiative, these grants fund quick-turnaround projects that aim to make communities great places to live for people of all ages. We’re looking for projects that improve public places; transportation; housing; digital connections; community resilience and community health and economic empowerment. This year, we’re expanding our investment in projects that improve pedestrian safety with funding support from Toyota Motor North America, and also those that increase high-speed internet (broadband) access and adoption with funding support from Microsoft. Despite the heroic actions of firefighters and care workers, most of the people who died in the Los Angeles fires have been older or disabled. And the risks will continue long after the fires are out—older adults were already the fastest-growing population experiencing homelessness in California. Justice in Aging and 125 other organizations urge the state to prioritize the needs of older adults and people with disabilities and ensure they get the resources they need to recover.
