May we have your attention, please? 📣 For the first time in its 12-year history, the Care.com Cost of Care Report uncovers the true cost of care in the U.S. — a stressful, emotional burden that extends beyond the financial strain of child care costs we’ve long documented. Spoilers: Due to the stress of caregiving, 🥱 90% of parents have lost sleep, 😭 80% of parents have cried (this jumps to 90% for moms), and 🚨 29% of parents have considered suicide or self-harm. The responses of 3,000 parents reveal the relentless juggling act and daily sacrifices of caring not just for kids but for the whole household. In a time when the U.S. Surgeon General has declared the declining mental well-being of parents a national concern, this report paints a 360° view of the hidden challenges they navigate and the heavy toll of caregiving on their stress and mental load. Our most comprehensive report to date makes an urgent case for real systematic solutions to help families reclaim their time, joy and a sense of balance in their lives. Here's what CEO Brad Wilson has to say about the findings of our 2025 Cost of Care Report: "Enough is enough. The findings reveal the profound emotional, financial, and social weight of caregiving, but also illuminate the opportunities to build a better, more supportive system. Policymakers can use this data to craft family-centered legislation that meets parents and caregivers where they are. Employers can reimagine how they support working parents with innovative policies and resources. And as Care.com, we can create innovative solutions that help families thrive." Here's what we're committed to doing—because change is possible. Read Brad's full note here: https://lnkd.in/gqtPjeHi
