AI Digital Health Company
About us
CarePredict is a venture-backed, AI digital health company that is on a mission to develop technologies to provide high-quality senior care. Our company was formed to solve the problem of providing care for the swelling ranks of seniors around the world at a time when the number of caregivers and monetary resources to support care are dwindling. We are passionate about senior care and helping seniors age independently with a safety net provided by technology. CarePredict is designed to solve a specific challenge in senior care: family, friends and caregivers of an elderly person may not notice the early clues pointing to declines in health and hence do not intervene in time leading to hospital admissions for easily preventable issues. It is our premise that subtle changes in ordinary behavior patterns predict declines in health. For example, a senior entering into a depressive phase will start having restless sleep patterns, loss of hygiene and changes in eating patterns several days before the episode. We leverage technology to detect these subtle changes and predict health declines. Our patented solution uses advanced remote sensing technologies, deep-machine learning, and user-friendly dashboards to continuously observe, learn, and trigger just-in-time care for seniors. Our sensing technologies permit the autonomous observation and collection of rich data sets about a user’s activities of daily living (ADLs). These rich data sets are then parsed within our deep learning systems to learn the behavior patterns for each senior and identify prescient changes in those patterns. The final predictions and alerts are then served up as actionable wellness insights to caregivers on our automated digital dashboards on browsers and smart devices. We are currently deployed in Senior Assisted Living and Memory Care Communities in the US. Learn more at carepredict.com.

What an insightful and timely discussion! At CarePredict, Inc, we couldn’t agree more—technology isn't here to replace human staff in senior living but to enhance their impact. Our solutions are built with that exact philosophy in mind. We empower staff with: 👍 Actionable Insights: Our AI-driven platform provides early detection of health changes in residents, enabling proactive care that directly improves outcomes. 👍 Efficient Communication Tools: Seamless and intuitive tools ensure faster coordination, allowing staff to spend more time in direct care with residents. 👍 Time and Cost Savings: We help reduce the administrative burden, allowing caregivers to focus on residents. This approach not only improves staff morale but also translates into better resident satisfaction and measurable operational efficiencies. We're proud that our contributions play a part in making Bob Kramer's “win-win-win” scenario a reality. Let’s continue reimagining the role of technology as an enabler in senior living. #AIinSeniorCare #ProactiveCare #ForceMultiplier
Will technology replace human staff in senior living? I certainly understand the fear that automation, robotics and artificial intelligence might enable industry leaders to cut head count. But what if technology frees senior living to: 👉Give staff more time for human-to-human interaction? 👉Use cost savings to increase staff pay? 👉Assign new and more meaningful responsibilities to staff, putting them on more attractive career paths? All of this is possible. In fact, we’re starting to see it already. In a recent piece in LeadingAge, Scott Code, MBA wrote about a similar transition that is taking place in the food service industry (https://lnkd.in/exndAdvC). Companies like McDonald’s and Shake Shack installed self-service kiosks so customers could order meals on their own. The result wasn’t a reduction in workforce. “While kiosks did streamline some aspects of the ordering process [at McDonald’s], they did not eliminate the need for staff. In fact, the company has continued to hire more employees to manage kitchen operations (people ordered more food!), assist customers with the technology, and maintain overall service quality.” Shake Shack saw similar results. In the senior living sector, Code reports that “full-service Life Plan community” Cypress Cove has seen benefits after bringing in dining robots: “Servers were able to stay in the dining area, focusing on higher-value activities such as engaging with residents and addressing their individual needs. This shift allowed staff to take on more personalized roles, creating deeper connections with residents and enhancing the overall dining experience.” The increase in responsibilities led to salary increases of 40 to 50 percent, Code reports, “made possible by the cost savings from the robots.” Advancements in technology — if implemented wisely — have the chance to benefit all aspects of senior living. We could see improvements in: ▶️Resident satisfaction ▶️Staff morale ▶️Staff pay ▶️ Career advancement opportunities There are no guarantees, of course, so I hesitate to say I’m sure this is how things will play out in senior living. But it’s a real possibility: a win for employees, a win for providers and a win for residents. cc Joe Velderman

This morning, Geoffrey Hinton was honored with a Nobel Prize for his exceptional contributions to AI for his pioneering work in neural nets, deep learning, and back propagation. Often called the father of AI, without his groundbreaking research, platforms like OpenAI and technologies like ChatGPT wouldn't exist today. In 2017, I had the privilege of meeting Geoff during a visit to the Toronto/Kitchener area, organized by Google. Alongside Ben Fowler (then leading Data Science at CarePredict, Inc.) it was truly inspiring to witness Geoff's insights firsthand. This experience served as an early validation of our innovative work in elder care with deep learning AI and led to us deploying our deep learning models to predict declines in health starting in 2017. Here's a throwback to a memorable lunch with Geoff in Toronto, where Ben (orange shirt) and I had the opportunity to engage with one of the most influential figures in the field.
