Kubecon India was a great networking platform, no doubt but Let's not forget about some amazing projects and talks. Here are my personal favorites. 🔯 Oodle AI: To be honest, there were a lot of observability booths but many of them lacked a key differentiator. I almost gave up and then I found oodle.ai. A startup with below 2 key differentiators that promise 90 percent cost reduction. ⭐ Using S3 buckets for storing metrics in their custom file format instead of a time series database. Of course S3 is much cheaper. ⭐ Using Serverless functions instead of cloud vms to run the query server(API). Makes sense as we don't query for metrics all day. 🔯 CAST AI: Using AI with FinOps. While a lot of FinOps solutions unfortunately stop at the budget and reporting, cast.ai implements cloud cost optimization with improved performance and enhanced security using AI. We all run 10s of k8s nodes with 30 percent CPU utilization each, Don't we ??? How about AI dealing with it to save costs. A really cool solution that I want to try asap. 🔯 Keynote by Janakiram MSV - Orchestrating AI agents on Kubernetes. It was truly fascinating to see how he presented the future of Kubernetes by integrating the worlds of AI agents and Kubernetes. Also had a pleasure to interact with him for 2 long hours.
