Ensuring that all biomedical results – including negative/inconclusive results - are discoverable

About us

The Center for Biomedical Research Transparency (CBMRT) is a US-based nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure that all sound biomedical results - including negative, inconclusive, and replicative results - are accessible in the interests of research efficiency and patient safety. CBMRT runs the 'Null Hypothesis', a collaborative initiative that creates dedicated journal space for high-quality negative, inconclusive, and replicative studies using existing journal infrastructure, networks, and marketing capacity. The goal is to create a movement that celebrates the write-up of good science and drives a change in culture toward greater transparency. Collaborations are in place with Neurology/American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association (across their suite of 13 journals), and Neurotrauma Reports/Cohen Veteran's Bioscience; collaborations in several new therapeutic areas are planned for 2021. CBMRT also hosts an annual Biomedical Transparency Summit series. The Summits are global convenings of expert speakers and stakeholders in biomedical research transparency (policy, funding, industry, publishing, academia) where updates and the latest knowledge are shared. CBMRT’s third program is its International Ambassador Network; a rapidly expanding group of global stakeholders who are driving culture change towards greater research transparency and who serve as ambassadors for CBMRT’s programs.
