About us
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) is a unit within the College of Lifetime Learning at Georgia Tech.
Since 1991, CEISMC has served as the primary connection point between Georgia Tech and the pre-collegiate education communities.
CEISMC provides inclusive and inspiring STEM/STEAM education experiences both in and out of the classroom. CEISMC faculty and staff develop a wide range of research and implementation programs focused on various aspects of STEM educational reform. CEISMC offers professional development for teachers, emphasizing innovative curricula and evidence-based practices in areas such as STEM with arts and music integration, computer science, robotics, invention, and entrepreneurship.
These opportunities and initiatives are achieved through community engagement and sustainable partnerships that promote student success and workforce development.
EXCEL, Georgia Tech's inclusive postsecondary education program housed within CEISMC, offers two-year and four-year college certificates for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Please save the date for our 1st Lifetime Learning Symposium (formerly, the Affordable Degrees-at-Scale Symposium). We are pivoting to be consistent with the goal of the new College of Lifetime Learning. We will of course still have a focus on at-scale degree and professional education programs while also exploring the best practices and research around the facilitation of lifetime learning, stackable certificates, micro-credentials, and the learning arc of one’s lifetime. Mark your calendar for the Lifetime Learning Symposium — formerly the Affordable Degrees-at-Scale Symposium — scheduled Oct. 6-8, 2025. The Lifetime Learning Symposium will build on the foundation laid by the Affordable Degrees-at-Scale Symposium since 2017. The Degrees-at-Scale event has provided higher education leaders a space to stay on top of cutting-edge developments within the at-scale degree space. This year the Lifetime Learning Symposium will continue to facilitate discussions on at-scale degree and professional education programs while also exploring the best practices and research around the facilitation of lifetime learning, stackable certificates, micro-credentials, and the learning arc of one’s lifetime, from K to gray.
