The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is the professional economic and business development engine serving as the primary point of contact for businesses interested in growing in or moving to New York’s 8 county Capital Region. Looking to relocate or expand? In need of entrepreneurship or workforce training services? Interested in business growth resources, support or opportunities? Need help sourcing quality talent? Our professional staff is ready to help guide you. In addition to support from its dedicated investors and partners, the Center for Economic Growth receives significant funding from the NYS Foundation for Science, Technology and Innovation (NYSTAR), New York’s high-technology economic development agency, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) / Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) and National Grid. As the designated Regional Technology Development Center for the New York State’s Capital Region and one of nearly 350 MEP locations across the country, CEG is charged with assisting local manufacturing and technology companies generate new sales, create stronger operational infrastructure, and overcome barriers to growth.

Alzheimer’s disease R&D is driving entrepreneurship in the Capital Region. Not only has Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute launched a Rensselaer Alzheimer’s Fellows to Accelerate Entrepreneurship in Life Sciences (RAFAELs) program, Capital Region private sector, for-profit firms over the last five years have received the third largest amount of NIH awards for Alzheimer's-related research. https://lnkd.in/eMgeJi2t Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University at Albany

Contract manufacturing operations in the Capital Region have been expanding their abilities to produce kilogram-scale batches of small molecules and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) in facilities that are compliant with good manufacturing practices (GMP). Local CMOs include Curia Global in Albany and Kinentia Biosciences and BioDevelopment, Inc. at University at Albany's Health Sciences Campus in East Greenbush. Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' CBET is also producing smaller volumes of high-purity materials. https://lnkd.in/gKf6hS5u
