On Monday, November 25, in Cali, #Colombia, CIPE América Latina y el Caribe and its partner Observatorio para la Equidad de las Mujeres - OEM hosted the event “Between Data and Testimonies: A Comprehensive Study of Gender-Based Violence in Digital Contexts.” During the opening remarks, Angela Velez, Director of CIPE’s Colombia Country Office, highlighted: “CIPE’s goal is not only to raise awareness about gender-based violence but also to empower women entrepreneurs and provide businesses with the necessary tools to prevent and address digital violence.” In a panel at the event, Natalia Prieto Pedraza, Program Officer at CIPE Colombia, stated: "The workplace is where most gender-based violence occurs in digital environments. Since the pandemic, this phenomenon has worsened as work activities have increasingly extended to computer screens, cell phones, and virtual meetings, leading harassment to shift to digital spaces. In this context, the private sector plays a crucial role in combating this issue." The reports resulting from this collaborative effort have been supported by the Center for Women’s Economic Empowerment (CWEE).
