For the 44th consecutive year, Central Hudson employees donated and delivered food to local families this week to help provide special Thanksgiving meals. Employees throughout the company donated non-perishable food as well as traditional Thanksgiving items such as stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy. The donations will help feed dozens of local adults and children.

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month. Central Hudson employees hosted a food and hygiene drive to support local veterans in need. Donations were delivered to the Castle Point VA Medical Center this week. Employees also hosted a care card writing drive to show support and appreciation for those who have served. Mental Health America of Dutchess County is planning events to support local veterans, such as resume writing and interview skill workshops. All veterans are welcome, and volunteers are needed. That’s enough to annually power nearly 95,000 homes and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 520,000 tons. Central Hudson is designing an exciting new geothermal energy network pilot project in the City of Poughkeepsie. Environmental benefits and cost savings are some key goals of this geothermal network. This pilot project will provide the information needed to understand how neighborhood-level geothermal projects can be scaled up for increased numbers of customers in the future.
