CFOs need to align their company priorities and financial bandwidth when selecting new office or facility locations or engaging in expansion discussions. "CFOs must pay close attention to local tax incentives, which can have a direct impact on a company’s operating costs, profitability and long-term financial outlook," writes Todd Carpenter of Baker Tilly US. "Governments often offer tax incentives to encourage business investment in certain areas and help economic and community development." https://lnkd.in/eyx-hchV

The president-elect’s recent appointments of Paul Atkins and David Sacks make the possibilities of AI overhaul and bitcoin as a reserve currency legitimate. As the U.S. federal debt continues to climb to unprecedented highs, President-elect Donald Trump’s appointment of Paul Atkins as director of the SEC and David Sacks as cryptocurrency and AI czar are moves that could significantly impact the U.S. economic landscape. https://lnkd.in/e_-ZdcAf

Kyndryl's CFO David Wyshner discusses the importance of a good CFO-CEO relationship, the positive impact of a new ERP system and how to set up strong internal financial controls. "In my career, I’ve been fortunate enough to work for a number of great CEOs who, at some point in their career, were CFOs," said Wyshner. "Although all CFOs don’t think alike, we think about things in similar ways. That approach and understanding in developing business acumen helps you get things done efficiently." https://lnkd.in/eKq7nB9W

As the AI hype continues, finance leaders should evaluate the technology with a dose of skepticism. While chip developers thrive, those creating AI products appear to be racing to the bottom. Many industry tradeshows are now saturated with AI offerings, and the knowledge gap between developers, sales teams and marketers has led to AI solutions being created without clear use cases seemingly for the sake of branding. Sound familiar? https://lnkd.in/eiqcme5W

Sandeep Aujla of Intuit discusses how he embraces change, his favorite pastime of spending time on the racetrack and the importance of investing in your team and your employees. "I start work around 6 a.m. and typically focus on pre-reads and preparing for the day’s meetings and discussions," said Aujla. "My kids typically come down for breakfast around 7:30 a.m., so I ensure that I hang out with them before they leave for school. As for work meetings, I rarely start before 9 a.m. unless it is something critical. Spending time preparing for the day helps me reflect on what key items we need to discuss and address in each meeting." https://lnkd.in/eCen8MQg
